教学内容分析

  本单元围绕“安和贝基的生日”(Ann’s and Becky’s birthday)这一主题,把有关“邀请和请求许可”(Invitation and permission)的日常交际用语、词汇和结构有机地结合,体现在对话和课文之中,可采情境法、表演法来完成学习任务。本单元四课的对话和课文呈现给我们的是丰富的语言材料,又好像是一幕幕栩栩如生的戏剧,充分展现了英语国家的文化风俗习惯。

  Lesson49的两段对话,内容是Ann向朋友(Bruce和Kate提出邀请,朋友应邀准备参加Ann的生日聚会。Lesson 50是Ann的朋友Jim和Bill打电话,一个表示将赴会但要晚到,另一个则因故不能前往,表示道歉。Lesson51 是一段记述文,述说了安的生日聚会情况,从会前的准备,到小客人来访、祝贺、送礼等。Lesson 52是通过填一个telephone message和猜出Becky的生日礼物,让我们提高阅读理解能力。

重点内容分析

  本单元的重点内容:

  (1)邀请及其应答的练习。第49课是邀请朋友参加你的生日晚会。

单词训练建议

  以学生自学为主,但因为本单元单词较多,可用一些实物、挂图、简笔画等向学生教授一些单词。

  实物如:plate, present, candle,

  简笔画如:telephone

  挂图如:birthday (party), smile

  合成词如:doorbell有door和bell构成,学生可以马上记住。

口语教学(语境)建议

  这一单元的口语训练可以和实际生活(过生日)相联系。一方面把本单元的重点内容融汇到了其中;另一方面,我们可以接着Lesson 51往下演续集,使之成为一个小剧本。在一周课时中,取出一课时,进行小剧的表演,这样可极大的调动学生的积极性。

延展性训练建议

  根据本单元所涉及的主要教学重点,我们可在课文原有基础上做两个巩固延展性训练。

  第一个是有关打电话的内容,现提供一段对话作为参考:

  (背景:Kate有事情要找Hanmei)

  Mrs. Li: Hello!

  Kate: Oh, good morning. May I speak to Hanmei, please?

  第二个是有关过生日的内容,我们可以以班里的一个学生为真实原型,以给他过生日为素材(比如家境比较困难的学生),真实再现本单元的全部内容,并延伸51课的内容,如点燃蜡烛—送生日礼物—切蛋糕—吃饭—饭后游戏,进行自由编练,加深同学们之间的情谊,又可以对他们进行有关素质教育(关心班里同学),可谓一举四得,不妨一试。

笔头训练建议

  本单元最重要的笔头训练部分是从电话联络中获取相关信息,学会有重点的听,并会有重点的记录telephone message.

  有关这一部分,教师可自己录几段打电话的内容,让学生填相关表格,像Lesson 52一样,进行反复练习。

音标训练建议

  这一单元音标比较简单、易学,重点是在最后两个/dV /和/ V /的发音的区别上,应让学生反复练习。

情感教育建议

  教学生们记住自己父母、亲人的生日,学会孝敬长辈,生日不一定非过不可,但通过记住生日,可表达出自己对他们的一分惦念和关心。

关于have组成的短语

  have a party 意为\"开舞会,举办聚会\"。

  have的用途很广,可以与很多词构成短语。如:

  have a look 看一看      have a swim 游泳

  have a rest 休息       have a drink 喝点东西 

  have a good time 玩得愉快  have breakfast 吃早饭

  have lessons 上课      have a walk 散步

  have a cold 感冒       have a meeting开会等

教学建议

否定疑问句

  表示惊异、反问、失望、责难等语气的疑问句叫否定疑问句。否定疑问句通常译成“难道……不……?”

一、否定疑问句的结构

  1.正式文体中:be / 助动词/情态动词+主语+not+其它?此结构实际是在一般疑问句的主语后加not(不与任何词缩写)。如:

  Is he not a worker? 难道他不是工人?

  Did you not know? 难道你不知道?

  Can you not see? 难道你看不见?

  2.非正式文体或口语中:be / 助动词/情态动词+n’t+主语+其它?此结构中,not须与其前面的词缩写成-n’t形式。如上面三个例句可以写成:

  Isn’t he a worker? Didn’t you know? Can’t you see?

二、否定疑问句的用法

  1.否定疑问句用于表示惊异、反问、失望、责难等语气,也可以赞美美好的事物(相当于一个特殊的感叹句),还可以用一提建议或邀请。如:

  Isn’t it beautiful? 难道它不美吗?(它真美!)

  Why don’t you go there by bus? 为什么不乘公共汽车去那儿呢?

  否定疑问句的答语:否定疑问句的答语在形式上与一般疑问句的答语一样,但翻译成汉语时,Yes要译成“不”,No要译成“对,是的”。英美人在回答问题时,凡与事实相符的都用Yes, 不相符的都用No. 如:

  —Isn’t he a teacher. 难道他不教师吗?

  —Yes, he is. 不,他是。(—No, he isn’t. 对,他不是。)

三、反意疑问句前半部分为否定陈述,后半句为肯定疑问时,实际上含意相当于否定疑问句,因此其答语的含义及形式与否定疑问相同。如:

  He isn’t a good boy, is he? 他不是个好男孩,对吗?

  Yes, he is. 不,他是。

  No, he isn’t. 是的,他不是。

重点句型分析

  1. Don’t forget to tell Jim.

  forget, remember加不定式(to+动词原形)表示“忘记、记住去做某事”,这里动词不定式所表述的动作还没做。另如:

  Please remember to turn off the lights when you leave. 当你离开时,请记住关灯。

  forget, remember加动名词(动词ing形式)表示“忘记、记得做了某事”,v-ing形式所表述的动作已经完成。再如:

  I forget putting the card on the table. 我忘记把卡片放在桌子上了。

  forget的后面还可接名词、代词或句子。如:

  Our teacher often forgets our names. 我们的老师经常忘记我们的名字。

  He forgot when he should leave. 他忘了他该什么时候离开。

  2. But I\'m afraid I may be a little late. 可是,对不起,我也许会晚一点儿到。

  I\'m afraid (that)... 通常译为“恐怕”,在此相当于I\'m sorry. 但比I\'m sorry语气更委婉,更客气。afraid为表语形容词,相同的还有asleep, alone等。

  (1) He may not be at home. He may be at work. 他可能不在家,他可能在工作。

  (2) I don\'t know the way. The policeman over there may know。

  我不认识路,那边的那位警察也许知道。

  may还表示请求许可,相当于could, can意为“可以”。如:

  (1) May / Could I speak to Ann, please? 请找安接电话好吗?

  (2) May / Can I use your pen? 我可以用用你的钢笔吗?

  另外 ,应注意以下这些分写与合写的词语的用法区别:

  may be可能是 maybe可能、也许 every day 每天 everyday 日常的

  some time一段时间 sometime 不确定的某个时间

  may be是情态动词may和be动词一起构成的复合谓语,而maybe则是一个副词,作状语语用。二者不能混淆。

  (1)Maybe he is right. 或许他是对的。

  (2)He may be right. 他可能是对的。

  3. We have a present for you, Becky.

  句中的have意思是“买”,与buy同义。另外,我们必须注意:动词buy, do, make, cook, sing, dance之后加双宾语时,如果将直接宾语(表示物的词)放在间接宾语(表示人的词)之前,间接宾语前应加介词for。另如:

  She made a kite for me. 她给我做了一个风筝。

  Mother cooks meals for us every day. 妈妈每天给我们做饭。

  4. I hope you can come to my party next Saturday. 我希望你能参加我下周六的聚会。

  hope可用于下列结构:

  hope+ to do 意为“想要……,希望……”,

  We hope to visit the Great Wall again.我们希望能再次游览长城。

  hope + that从句,意为“……,希望……”。

  I hope that you will be better soon.我希望你很快就能康复。

  注:hope不可使用hope sb. to do sth. 的复合结构。

打电话

  打电话一般有下述几个程序,每个程序都有它的常用语。

  1.电话铃响,接电话人一般先说\"Hello!\"后报电话号码,如果不报电话号码也可说\"Hello!\", 再作自我介绍。如:

  (1)Hello, . (喂,我这儿是。)

  (2)Hello, this is John here. Who\'s speaking? (喂,我是约翰。你是谁?)

  2.打电话人的常用语为:

  (3) Hello! This is …here. May I have a word with…?(喂,我是…,请……接电话好吗?)

  (4) Hello! Is that…(speaking)? (喂,你是……吗?)

  (5) Who\'s speaking / calling? (你是谁?)

  3.要找的人不在,接电话的人常用语一般为:

  (6) Hold on, please. (请等一下,别挂断。)

  (7) Just hold the line a second, please. (请稍等。)

  (8) May I ask who is calling? (请问你是谁?)

  4.通知某人接电话的常用语一般为:

  (9) Somebody is asking for you on the phone. (有你的电话。)

  (10) A long distance call for you, Mr.…(某某先生,有您的长途。)

  5.留言或捎口信的常用语有一般为:

  (11) May / Can I leave a message? (我可以留言吗?)

  (12) Could you take a message? (你可以捎个口信吗?)

  (13) Would you like to leave a message? (你愿意留言吗?)

  (14) Can I take a message for you? (我可以为你捎个口信吗?)

  6.在朋友家作客,需打电话,一般要问:

  Could I use your telephone? (我可以用你的电话吗?)

  “请求允许与应答”小结

  A.请求允许:

  a. Can/ Could I …?

  b. May I …?

  B. 应答方式:

  a. Yes/ Certainly.

  b. Yes, do please.

  c. Of course (you may).

  d. All right/ That\'s OK.

  e. I\'m sorry, but …

  f. You\'d better not.

  C. 说明:

  1)在请求对方许可时,情态动词can和may 在口语里一般能相互换用,但can的语气比较通俗与随便,may则显得更加庄重与正式。例如,当你想进入一个熟悉朋友的房间时,你可以说:Can I come in?要是你想进入老师的办公室,你最好说:May I come in?

  2) could 虽然为can的过去式形式,但在Could I …?句型中并不表示过去概念,而仅表示一种更加客气和婉转的语气,更会有尊重对方的意思,故回答时应用can 而不用could。例:Could I ask you some questions? Yes, you can.

  D. 对话实例:

  A: May I have a rest, Mum? 

  B: No, you must finish your homework first.

  A: But I\'m a little hungry. Could I have a cake, please?

  B: Yes, do please.

Step 1 Revision

  让同学们复习以前接触的电话常用语。可组一组对话,如:

  A: Ok. I’d love to, when?

  B: What about 3 o’clock?

  A: All right, see you then.

  注:类似的一组对话可以复习到:This is…, Who is it? Would you like to…等以前的知识。

  复习反意问句。让学生们先观察以下句子。它们有些什么共同点。

  打开书,跟读录音,pair work,直到较熟悉为止。

Step 5 Practice:

  1.根据已熟练的知识,请同学们两两设计一段真实的对话,用真实的姓名和实物电话进行表演,全部或部分用上本课重点词语。(此环节可找些学习较好、接受能力强的学生先演练)
