Passage 1
"If you want to see a thing well, reach out and touch it!"
That may seem a strange thing to say. But touching things can help you to see them better. Your eyes can tell you that a glass ball is round. But by holding it in your hands, you can feel how smooth (光滑) and cool the ball is. You can feel how heavy the glass is. When you feel all these about the ball, you really see it. With your skin, you can feel better. For example, your fingers can tell the difference between two coins in you pocket. You can feel a little drop of water on the back of your hand, too.
All children soon learn what "Don't touch!" means. They hear it often. Yet most of us keep on touching things as we grow up. In shops, we touch things as we might buy: food, clothes. To see something well, we have to touch it.
There are ways of learning to see well by feeling. One way is to close your eyes and try to feel everything that is touching your skin. Feel the shoes on your feet, the clothes on your body, the air on your skin. At first, it is not easy to feel these things. You are too used to them!
Most museums are just for looking. But today some museums have some things to touch. Their signs say, "Do touch!" There you can feel everything on show. If we want to see it better, reach out and touch it. Then you will really see it!

Passage 2
Here are some tips for how to talk with your parents.
Try to start your talk with something fun. This will make talking easier. For example, ask your parents questions about their day. How’s work? They love this!
Make it clear what you want to tell your parents. If they have an opinion, let them finish and don’t interrupt. Ask them to do the same for you.
Show them respect by listening to them carefully. Look them in the eye.
Be honest. Honesty builds trust (信任). Life is good when your parents trust you.
If your parents don’t understand, that’s OK. It doesn’t mean they don’t love you or they’re not trying. Sometimes you have to explain things to them again or in a different way.
When you finish the talk, thank them for listening. Say something like, “thanks, that helped”. It will let them know this is important to you, and make them want to do it more often.
If you feel like there are still things to talk about, set up a time with them to talk about it another day.

My name is Wu Zheng Hui. I was born in Tainan on August 16 , 1988. I went to primary school in Tainan. My family moved to Taichung after I left school.
I have a small family. I live with my mother, father, and younger brother. He's eight. I have a few cousins in Taichung, but most of my relatives still live in Tainan. We visit them a few times a year.
I get along with my brother very well. We like to play basketball together. I'm bigger than he is, so I always win. We also like to play video games. Sometimes, he beats me! I also like to read and draw in my spare time.
On weekends, my parents take us out. We go to movies, restaurants, and parks. One time, we went to a really neat amusement park. It was so much fun! I went on the roller coaster four times. And I ate lots of junk food. My dad said I would make my dentist very rich. That night, my mom made me eat lots of vegetables. That was alright, since I love vegetables.
Now, I'm a student at Zhong Shan Junior High School. I study a lot more than I used to. I like math, Chinese, and history. My teachers are very nice. They always help me if I have any questions.
I think I'm a friendly and outgoing guy. I sometimes get angry, so I think I need to be more patient. My mom says nobody's perfect. She says each person has things they need to improve about themselves.
