The modern age is an age of electricity．People are so used to electric lights, radio, televisions, and telephones that it is hard to imagine what life would be like without them．When there is a power failure, people grope （摸索） about in flickering candlelight, cars hesitate in the streets because there are no traffic lights to guide them, and food spoils in silent refrigerators．

Yet, people began to understand how electricity works only a little more than two centuries ago．Nature has apparently been experimenting in this field for million of years．Scientists are discovering more and more that the living world may hold many interesting secrets of electricity that could benefit humanity．

Some people decide to rebuild or redecorate their homes at some point, and sometimes the job takes longer than expected．The Winchester house in San Jose, California was rebuilt over 38 years! One reason that this house took so long to rebuild was that the owner of the house thought that ghosts lived there．

Most people think that the capital of the movie world is Hollywood, in the United States．However, the real movie capital is Mumbai, in India．Mumbai used to be known as Bombay, and so the film industry there is called "Bollywood"．Bollywood makes twice as many movies each year as Hollywood--more than 800 films a year．

Secondly, Spring Festival focuses on saying goodbye to the old and welcoming the new year, and as a result, “bainian”, and giving or taking “pocket-money” are its typical activities．Thanksgiving Day is to celebrate the harvest extending thanks to the God, through a series of performances and sports games .

I' m at the scene of an unusual rescue that occurred earlier today involving a fire, a 3-monthold baby, and the baby's dog, Lucky．Uh, the fire broke out at the three-story building behind me．Uh, unfortunately, we' re not able to get any closer because of the possibility of an explosion．Uh, however, witnesses say that they noticed fire coming from the building earlier this morning．

It was believed that everyone had been moved to safety; however, one of the residents, Susan O'Connor, when she had returned and noticed the fire, was frightened, realizing that her 3montl4-old baby was still inside．However, witnesses report seeing the dog, uh, the family dog, pulling the baby to safety by, uh, the baby' s clothes．

Fortunately, everyone is reported fine．The baby was taken to the hospital, uh, as well as the dog, but we're happy to say that at this time, it looks like everyone, uh, will be fine．This is Channel 13 News．
