It has been thought and said that Africans are born with musical talent. Because music is so important in the lives of many Africans and because so much music is performed in Africa , we are inclined to think that all Africans are musicians. The impression is strengthened when we look at ourselves and find that we have become largely a society of musical spectators(旁观者). Music is important to us, but most of us can be considered consumers rather than producers of music. We have records, television, concerts, and radio to fulfill many of our musical needs. In most situations where music is performed in our culture, it is not difficult to distinguish the audience from the performers, but such is often not the case in Africa.Ablan Ayipage, a Kasena semiprofessional musician from northern Ghana, says that when his flute(长笛) and drum ensemble(歌舞团) is performing, "anybody can take part". This is true, but Kansena musicians recognize that not all people are equally capable of taking part in the music. Some can sing along with the drummers, but relatively few can drum and even fewer can play the flute along with the ensemble. It is fairly common in Africa for there to be an ensemble of expert musicians surrounded by others who join in by clapping, singing, or somehow, adding to the totality of musical sound.Performances often take place in an open area (that is, not on a stage) and so the lines between the performing nucleus and the additional performers, active spectators, and passive spectators may be difficult to draw from our point of view.
71.The difference between us and Africans, as far as music is concerned is that ______.
A.most of us are consumers while most of them are producers of music.
B.We are musical performers and they are semiprofessional musicians
C.Most of us are passive spectators while they are active performers

A.music is performed with the participation of the audience.
B.Music is performed without the participation of the audience
C.People tend to distinguish the audience from the performers
D.People have records, television sets and radio to fulfill their musical needs.
74.The author of the passage implies that _______.
A.all Africans are musical and therefore much music is performed in Africa
B.not all Africans are born with musical talent although music is important in their lives
C.most Africans are capable of joining in the music by playing musical instruments
D.most Africans perform as well as professional musicians
75.The best title for this passage would be ________.

B.Differences Between African Music and Music of Other Countries

Saving Knocked-out Teeth
What do you do if you are hit in the mouth and one of your teeth is knocked out? A dentist may be able to put the tooth back in for you, but you have to get to the dentist first. In the mean-time, you have to store the tooth so that it will stay healthy.
The simplest thing to do is to put the tooth back into your mouth or you could put it in milk. Frank Courts, a dentist at the University of Florida, worked with other researchers to find the safest way of keeping knocked-out teeth. He tried putting teeth into milk, into water, and into cell-culture medium (细胞培养液). He also tried just drying the teeth in the open air. He used teeth that had to be removed from people's mouths for different reasons. The teeth were put into one of the solutions (溶液) or stored in the air for one hour. Then cells from the root of the teeth were scraped off the teeth. Dr Courts and the others then studied how healthy these cells were.
The cell-culture medium worked best to keep a knocked-out tooth healthy outside the mouth. However, few people keep cell-culture medium handy at home or in school. The next best thing was milk. But Dr Courts said that the best thing of all was to wash the tooth and put it right back into its socket (牙槽) in the mouth. For some people, though, this is just too painful or upsetting. So milk will do, until you get your tooth (and your mouth) to a dentist.
76. This passage is mainly about ______.
A. how a dentist can save a knocked-out tooth
B. how to keep a knocked-out tooth healthy
C. how Dr Courts and other researchers made their experiments
D. how to put a knocked-out tooth back into its socket
77. Dr Courts tested _______.

78. The best way to keep a knocked-out tooth healthy outside the mouth is to store it______.
A. in cell-culture medium B. in milk
C. in water D. in the open air
79. Milk can be used instead of cell-culture medium to put a knocked-out tooth in because_____.
A. milk works better to keep the tooth healthy
B. milk causes less pain
C. cell-culture medium is not usually handy
D. cell-culture medium is more expensive

Dear Editor,
I'm writing to tell you about the discussion in my school on whether it is good for middle school students to listen to pop music.
The parents think students are too young to listen to pop music which can easily make students become vulnerable. To make things worse, this kind of music has a bad effect on studies.
However, the majority of the students think pop music can get rid of their tiredness and make them relax. Besides, they often have happy feelings while listening to pop music. So pop music plays an active part in their life.
In my opinion, we should listen to music that is good for both our mind and study. In addition, we should arrange our time properly.
Yours sincerely,
Wang Lei
